I really missed those days and looking back I can't help but wonder how different his career could have been had he stuck with the Slash role. I've been watching Colin Kapernick for the past 1.5 seasons and wonder how Kordell Stewart would have done if they tried to work with his strength (run with the football) instead of making him into a pure pocket passer. Kapernick has NOT won a super bowl yet, but he is so exciting running the football and is having so much success.

Ward played on "3 yards and a cloud of dust" teams for almost all of his career. Early in Bens career, he was not putting the ball up 34 times a game. Kordell certainly wasn't either. During the Kordell era, Bettis got the ball on first and second down, and a lot of times Kordell would pull it down and run himself on third.
