Mr Door

Mr Door

Mr. Door is a legally distinct entity from Mr. Hatch. Despite the same (intended) casting. The same M.O. The same animosity against a character played by Shawn Ashmore, and who is hinted to have been killing other versions of that character in other worlds.

Even the actors look somewhat similar. I also agree Mr. Door is a version of Martin Hatch even the surnames are related Hatch <=> Door. Martin Hatch has the capability of controlling/ connecting to his own versions in different universes. This character in Remedy-verse is indeed an underrated character. To me it looks like Mr. Door wanted Alan back in The Dark Place, but freed from The Dark Presence influence, because he is playing some longer game. I suspect he means a different RCU game entirely. Mr. Door doesn't give a shit about Alan, he's just making sure conditions are right for Saga to be able to exit the Dark Place when she needs to. Plus, in Control Dylan tells us he (Mr. Doors) refused to help the Hiss enter the worlds-on-worlds. A goal Jesse seems to share, which would make him a better ally than antagonist. Weirdly, Mr. Door is the only entity we've come across who refers to Alan as Alan and not Tom.

Many speculated that this is Mr. Hatch, though that is the least likely scenario due to actual real life legal reasons. Then there's Ahti, who seems to be able to go from different realities at will, and seems to understand it quite well. Janitor also means "gatekeeper", so him being Mr. Door would make sense. This was reinforced in Control where Dylan tells the story of meeting Mr. Door in one of his dreams. So Tim Breaker could very well be an echo of Jack Joyce as Jack hasn't suffered through Chronon Syndrome like Hatch did that enabled him to experience all possible version of himself , which could why Tim has these fading recalls of things he ... Door is absolutely a different Mr. Hatch, no question about it. But I believe the recasting is intentional. But I believe the recasting is intentional. Jack Tim mentions him looking different (unless I'm remembering a line wrong) which could easily just be a cheeky reference, or it could be a hint that he's a different version of Hatch. Mr. Door is clearly a stand in for Mr. Hatch (hatch, door get it) from Quantum Break who was played by lance(RIP), the same way with Shawn Ashmore as Jack Joyce, the main character from QB and Tim Breaker(time breaker get it).

Mr. Door is such an intriguing character, I really wanna know more about him and see other people's theories about him. Edit: there is a manuscript that says that in 1988 the Anderson brothers made a deal with a man to that "stood in between" near Cauldron Lake, and that he was struck by lightning. Tor and Odin made Door go away.
